CfC Stanbic Bank Scholarships at Strathmore

CfC Stanbic Bank has launched a scholarship scheme at Strathmore University to cater for the bright and needy students with a banking career ambition. The scholarships recently launched will cater for both tuition fees and accommodation. 
The scholarship is for the following courses:
Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Business Information Technology
Bachelor of Business Science – Financial Economics
Bachelor of Business Science – Actuarial Science
Bachelor of Laws
The applicants should:
Apply for admission to any of the above courses at Strathmore University.
Have scored at least an A- in KCSE 2012 or 2013
Must attach proof of financial neediness.
Must attach a recommendation letter from a religious or civic leader.
 Only shortlisted students will be contacted for interviews.
Successful applicants will commence their studies at Strathmore University, Nairobi in July 2014.

The Annual EABL Foundation Scholarships is on-until 22nd July 2011

EABL foundation is at it again! The annual EABL foundation scholarships is on and it comes at around this same time (June) every year.
EABL Foundation has announced the commencement of this year’s scholarship application drive that will see 20 new students join private and public universities across East Africa. The scholarship programme is open to bright but needy students across the region wishing to study business, information technology, engineering and food science. This scholarship covers tuition, books, accommodation, monthly stipend and a mentorship programme for those students that are awarded. “We are very conscious of the essential role education plays in the communities in which we operate. We are not only empowering people but also investing in their future and that of their communities,” said EABL group corporate relations director, Brenda Mbathi. EABL Foundation Scholarship program started in 2001 as Guinness Strathmore Scholarships but – was later expanded to cover the entire region in order to allow more students to apply. Successful applicants in the last five years have been accepted to Strathmore University, University of Nairobi, University Dar el Salaam, Makerere University among others. The foundation has set aside Sh19.5 million for this year’s intake. To date, close to 140 students have been awarded with the EABL Foundation scholarships, worth over Sh130 million in the last nine years. Applications for Strathmore will close on 14th June 2011 while those wishing to study engineering or food science in public universities have until 22nd July 2011 to apply.
