The Rotman school of management has a number of MBA scholarships on offer to new entrants.
The EMBA Fellowship Award for Non-Profit Managers
Value: $10,000
Awarded to a student who has a strong record of achievement
in non-profit management. Managers in the following non-profit sectors are
eligible to apply: social services, arts and culture, sports and recreation,
international development, health care, and education.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. Preference is given to those who intend
to remain in these areas of employment. An Awards Committee will select the
recipient.
Dean’s EMBA Award of Merit for Professional Advancement
Value: $10,000
Awarded to an exceptional student entering the EMBA program.
Award decisions will be based on the candidate’s exceptional job performance,
demonstration of success resulting in a promotion or award, academic merit, and
a demonstration of leadership in his or her current role.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. An Awards Committee will select the
recipient.
Academic Director's Award for Women Managers
Value: $10,000
Awarded to an exceptional female student entering the EMBA
program who has demonstrated strong leadership skills in her personal and
professional life. Successful applicants will have achieved high academic standing
in their undergraduate work or similar achievements outside the academic world.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. An Awards Committee will select the
recipient.
Associate Dean's Award for Academic Excellence
Value: $10,000
Awarded to an exceptional student who has achieved academic
excellence at the graduate level.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. The Award Selection Committee will review
all submissions and select the recipient.
EMBA Award for Leadership
Value: $10,000
Awarded to an exceptional student who holds a leadership
position in their current employment supervising a team of colleagues and
mentoring them to gain management positions in the future.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. One letter of reference is required from
a reporting colleague that outlines why the candidate is a good leader. The
Award Selection Committee will review all submissions and select the recipient.
Scholarships are awarded by the EMBA Scholarships Awards
Committee to accepted students, six weeks before the start of the program. EMBA
staff will provide candidates with more information regarding the application
process once they have been accepted into the program.
EMBA Award for Small to Medium Enterprise Managers
Value: $10,000
Awarded to a student entering the Executive MBA program who
has a strong record of managerial achievement in a small to medium Enterprise.
For the purpose of this award, the program follows Statistics Canada's
definition of an SME as any business establishment with 0 to 499 employees and
less than $50 million in gross revenues.
Applicants must write a letter of request outlining why they
are the best candidate for the award. An Awards Committee will select the
recipient. Award decisions will be based on the candidate's exceptional job
performance and a demonstration of leadership in his or her current role.
