AERC provides a number of scholarships to aspiring students
from institutions participating in the CMAP, which are not offering the Master
of Arts programme (Category A universities), to study at universities that do
offer the degree course (Category B universities).
To merit consideration, candidates should apply and be accepted by one of the category B universities. The Head of the Economics Department at their respective university should endorse applications for AERC support. Amongst other qualifying factors, criteria for selection for AERC support include the following:

- Applicant
must be on staff development at a Category A university or be an
outstanding individual recommended by the department.
- Must
be employed by the public sector, ideally in key ministries, such as
Planning, Finance, Industry, Commerce or in the Central bank; and
- Must
be admitted to a Category B university.
- Qualified
women are particularly encouraged to apply.

Deadlines for applications for MA scholarships vary according to the Category B university's academic calendar: 31 March for universities teaching October to June, and 30 September for those teaching March to December.
