Get a Laptop at Haft the Price

The Kenya ICT board in partnership the world Bank is out to make Kenyan Students,
Laptop Students. You will be damned if you don't own a laptop by the time you clear collage.
Phase one of the initiative has just ended but be on the look out for the second and third till all the students are ICT compliant.

The objective of this first phase of the laptop initiative is to provide a financial incentive towards purchasing a laptop for registered university students that is Kenyan students in participating public and private universities and colleges.
The laptop initiative is funded by the World Bank and implemented by The Kenya ICT Board under the Kenya Transparency and Communications Infrastructure Project (TCIP), as part of a component to implement the Computers for the Communities Initiative. This laptop initiative is known as ‘Wezesha’; a Swahili word that means ‘to enable’. All participating Universities/Colleges are listed below; [www.ict.go.ke under the Digital Inclusion “tab”] other Universities/Colleges will be added as soon as they confirm participation. The incentive per registered student will be approximately fifteen (15%) and thirty three (33%) percent of the actual price of a laptop, depending on whether the student will prefer a lower-end or higher end model. The remaining portion of the laptop purchase must be met/ borne by the student purchaser at the point of sale. The funds available for this phase will provide an incentive for about fifteen thousand six hundred and sixty seven (15,667) laptops. The incentive will be a fixed amount regardless of the specifications and price of the laptop selected by the student, five (5%) percent of the laptops have been allocated and reserved for students with special needs.
