Scholarships for students from Kenya

The University scholarships for September 2009 entry have not yet been confirmed. The scholarships that were available for students from Kenya for September 2008 entry are listed below.
Undergraduate Scholarships eg BA, BSc, BEng, MEng

Faculty Undergraduate Scholarships

We are pleased to offer scholarships to all international students commencing their studies in the Faculties of Engineering, Pure Science and the School of Law in September 2008:

Kenya 50% Undergraduate Scholarship 2008

There is one Kenya 50% Undergraduate Scholarship, available for Kenyan students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2008.

The scholarship is worth 50% of your undergraduate course tuition fee per year.

To be eligible for the Kenya 50% Undergraduate Scholarship 2008, applicants must be a Kenyan national or permanently domiciled in Kenya, apply for a study place by 4 April 2008 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2008.

The Kenya 50% Undergraduate Scholarship 2008 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2008 onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
Postgraduate Scholarships eg MA, MSc

The University of Sheffield do not currently directly offer scholarships for postgraduate taught students from Kenya. However there are a number of external organisations that offer scholarships and funding to international students who wish to study in the UK.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Kenyan students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Kenya can apply:

New Route PhD

Tuition fee scholarships are available to students starting a New Route PhD programme in September 2008. The scholarship is a 25% tuition fee reduction per year for 4 years of the degree programme.

Applicants will be informed automatically if they have been awarded a scholarship.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
